Company Name: Southeast Regional Cooperative
Position Title: and Administrative Coordinator – Part Time

ORGANIZATION
The Southeast Regional Produce Cooperative acquires and distributes fresh produce to member food banks in a region stretching from Florida to North Carolina and as far West as Mississippi. The cooperative leverages the combined volumes of its member banks to realize savings in procuring and distributing fresh produce compared to the typical costs paid by individual food banks. The SRPC is member-run by a Board of Directors responsible for ensuring the cooperative meets its charter and its performance targets. The SRPC is a Georgia-based 501(c)3 nonprofit with the goal of increasing the amount of high-quality, high-variety produce to feed Southeastern families and individuals in need.

JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting and Administrative Coordinator is responsible for the daily back office operations of the Produce Cooperative. This includes all aspects of bookkeeping operations including invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions ensuring timely and accurate work. Additionally, the Coordinator will be responsible for administrative functions for the Cooperative as well. The successful candidate will strive for efficiency and effectiveness in all work functions and processes. Additionally, the Accounting and Administrative Coordinator will build and maintain strong relationships with food bank staff at all levels, vendors, and partners in order to understand and meet the needs of stakeholders with respect to invoicing, reconciliation, payments, and resolution of inbound inquiries from those stakeholders

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Responsibility for all accounting and bookkeeping functions including creating invoices to member food banks, ensuring all invoices from produce donors and logistics providers are properly entered to accounting systems, and reconciliation for all payments received from member banks
* Fulfill internal and external customer expectations with key stakeholders ( Food bank personnel , service providers, donors, suppliers etc.)
* Communicate with produce donors and food bank/Feeding America produce sourcers on matters involving invoicing and payments for produce and logistics.
Assist Logistics Coordinator in scheduling freight with both transport companies, food banks, and vendors.
* Maintain database on produce offerings and orders. Investigate and implement automation opportunities for the produce database.
Provide reports to the Supply Chain Manager and the Director of Supply Chain upon request.
* Build relationships with and maintain good rapport with member food banks’ food sourcing and operations staff.
* Drive for results, strong desire to commit and deliver against the Cooperative’s mission and vision.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education, Experience, and Training
* 4+ years’ experience in a accounting, customer service, purchasing or accounting within a business environment and/or a non-profit organization.
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, agriculture, supply chain, business or a related field from an accredited college or university.
* Proven proficiency with computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant accounting software, MS Office Suite in particular Excel or other spreadsheet programs. Familiarity with Quickbooks is a plus.
* Extensive knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures.
* Customer orientation.

B. Knowledge and Skills
* Background in accounting or bookkeeping, supply chain, logistics, and/or transportation in the produce industry highly preferred.
* Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to juggle and adapt to multiple requests with attention to detail and accuracy while adhering to deadlines in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Proven excellence in organizational and planning skills; problem analysis and problem solving skills.
* Proficiency with the Internet and non-profit software.
* Produce industry experience preferred but not required.
